Since 2005 Fairyhouse Cookery School has been providing high quality, hands-on cookery workshops to Primary and Secondary School children.

Our workshops introduce children to healthy eating and include food tasting, creating and eating delicious recipes and involving pupils in practical activities focusing on either food labeling, junk food and eating your 5 a day.

What are ‘F’ Camps?

 

1-day School Tour, 10am to 2pm

For 8 years and upwards.

‘F’ Camps teach about good Food linked to Fitness through Fun

  • Cook in teams to learn healthy Fresh Food choices
  • Learn hands-on kitchen skills to use in the Future
  • Prepare and taste nutritious recipes in a Friendly environment
  • Fruit & Vegetables & Meat, savour the Flavour
  • Practice easy exercise habits in a Fun way

WHAT WE PROVIDE?

 

  • hands on cookery classes
  • purpose built kitchen / cookery school
  • friendly and homely environment
  • high level supervision 1 Instructor : 8 children
  • premises insured, drop-off and parking facilities
  • large garden for games and fitness
  • no need to pack a lunch as we provide ALL ingredients, snacks, lunch and refreshments

WE COOK………    

  • read recipes, prepare ingredients
  • learn chopping and cooking techniques
  • organize kitchen workstations
  • time and taste all the recipes
  • sit for lunch with Instructors and Team

Call the office at 01-6896476  (10am to 2pm) to discuss availability of dates and for a booking form.

 

Price

The price is €15 per child (€420 based on 28 children).  We accept cheques, credit cards and laser cards.

The fee covers

  • All tuition
  • All ingredients & equipment
  • All food including snacks, lunch and drinks
  • Recipe sheets to take home

 

Dress Code

Children should wear comfortable clothing – track suit would be ideal.

Hair should be tied up.  Flat shoes or runners.

Bring a rain coat  if necessary and if the sun shines, wear plenty of sun screen, a sun hat  & a smile!
