TRANSITION YEAR 1 Day Workshop

1 day hands-on workshop / Classes of up to 24 students

€18 per student

Time: 10am to 2pm (to include 1/2 hour for lunch)

Since 2005 Fairyhouse Cookery School has been providing high quality, hands-on cookery workshops to Transition Year students.

Our workshops introduce students to a variety of techniques using tasty recipes in a relaxed and informal environment.

WHAT IS A ‘TY’ WORKSHOP?

The workshop runs from 10am to 2pm (Monday to Thursday)

  • Cook in teams
  • Learn hands-on kitchen skills and techniques (skills for life)
  • Read recipes
  • Prepare ingredients and equipment required
  • Organize kitchen workstations
  • Timing for recipes
  • Cook  and taste nutritious recipes
  • Sit for lunch

 

WHAT WE PROVIDE?

  • Purpose built kitchen / cookery school
  • Friendly and homely environment
  • Premises insured, drop-off and parking facilities
  • Located on large site with gardens (for break time)
  • No need to pack a lunch as we provide ALL ingredients, snacks, lunch and refreshments

 

The Team

Billie O’Shea – Billie owns and runs the cookery school. Using her background as a nurse in health promotion she designed the ‘TY Workshop’ with a focus on healthy eating habits and cookery as a possible future career option.

Liz McGlynn - Liz was a children’s nurse in Temple Street but decided to follow her passion for cooking by joining the team  at the cookery school.

This workshop is designed for groups /classes of TY students.  It's an opportunity to explore your 'inner chef' and with demonstrations followed by hands-on cookery what better way to find out if you'd like to become the next Gordon Ramsey?!
